Civil Excise Officers pass out at the State Excise Academy in Thrissur as Kerala counts its Operation Thunder cases

Seventy newly trained Civil Excise Officers passed out at the parade ground of the State Excise Academy in Thrissur.
Sixty-eight of them belong to the 36th batch, and two women officers completed the 17th batch.
Minister for Co-operation M. Liju received the salute from the trainees.
The Minister said the government has taken several steps to strengthen the excise force, and pointed to Operation Thunder, the department's enforcement drive, which has produced about 60,000 cases across the State.
He added that measures to increase staff numbers in the department are under consideration.
The Academy at Thrissur is the training institution for Kerala's excise personnel.
