Cyclone Murasu, a name India proposed, forms over the Bay of Bengal and heads for south Andhra Pradesh

A system over the Bay of Bengal has strengthened into Cyclone Murasu, a week after Cyclone Arnab struck the same coast.
The name was proposed by India and means a war drum in Tamil.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that it will cross the south Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Narsapur as a severe cyclonic storm on the night of 2-3 November.
Winds of 100-110 km/h, gusting to 120 km/h, are forecast at landfall.
Seven Andhra districts, including Nellore and Prakasam, are on red alert over 2 and 3 November, and Odisha has ordered evacuations from low-lying areas.
Kerala is not expected to be hit directly, but thunderstorms and rain are forecast across the State.

Name proposed by: India Meaning: war drum (Tamil) Forecast landfall: between Nellore and Narsapur Forecast wind speed: 100-110 km/h, gusting to 120 km/h
Why it matters for exams: Who names cyclones in the North Indian Ocean, which country proposed a name, and the IMD's parent ministry are recurring geography and disaster-management questions.
