DoNER Joint Secretary inspects the Rs 72.59 crore Kohima Multi-disciplinary Sports Centre at the IG Stadium Complex

Dr Vipul Aggarwal, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), and Principal Secretary and Development Commissioner Y Kikheto Sema inspected the Kohima Multi-disciplinary Sports Centre under construction at the IG Stadium Complex, Kohima, on 22 October 2026. The project was sanctioned on 27 October 2025 at a total cost of ₹72.59 crore, of which ₹17.62 crore has been released by the Government of India. The Youth Resources & Sports Department said the work is on schedule and due for completion by 20 January 2028, as stipulated in the DPR. Sema said the Planning & Transformation Department will keep reviewing all 71 ongoing projects funded by DoNER and the NEC.
