High-Level Committee on Demographic Changes launches a public portal for data and submissions

Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar (Retd.), Chairman of the High-Level Committee on Demographic Changes, launched the committee's dedicated web portal in New Delhi.
The portal is available at demography.mha.gov.in and is open for public access, stakeholder submissions and data interaction.
Central ministries and departments, State and Union Territory governments, institutions and individuals can give inputs on un-natural demographic changes, their causes and abnormal settlement patterns.
The inputs will help the committee recommend a permanent operational system for the legal, fair and time-bound identification, detention and deportation of illegal immigrants.
The committee was constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 26 May 2026.
Its terms of reference include studying variations in fertility, cross-border movement, economic opportunities and other socio-environmental factors.
