3 October 2026
Lt Governor VK Saxena visited the heritage village of Hunderman in Kargil on 3 September 2026 to review its development. The village adjoins the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. An 'Exploring LOC and Hunderman Village Experience' project is under way, with a viewpoint, parking, an integrated centre, walking paths, smart toilets, a cafe, solar panels and EV charging. Officials were directed to finish the work by the end of October 2026. A solar lift irrigation system is also being put in place for agriculture.
