Kerala's land and disaster management institute to train Sabarimala duty magistrates with the National Institute of Disaster Management

Ahead of the Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku season, the Institute of Land and Disaster Management will run a joint disaster management training programme with the National Institute of Disaster Management. The course runs from November 3 to 6 and is formally opened on November 4 at the institute by Revenue Minister A.P. Anil Kumar. More than forty officers take part, among them duty magistrates, executive magistrates, officers of about eleven departments and district officers of deputy tahsildar rank and above. The sessions cover crowd management, incident response systems, law and order, magisterial duties, disaster management and how the Sabarimala squads work. Tinku Biswal, Principal Secretary for Revenue and Disaster Management, and H. Dineshan, Land Revenue Commissioner, are among the speakers, along with faculty from the National Institute of Disaster Management.

Training dates: November 3 to 6 Participants: Over 40 officers
Why it matters for exams: NIDM's full form and Kerala's Institute of Land and Disaster Management are both standing institution questions, and the Revenue Minister is a named office holder.
