KSRTC to run air-conditioned buses from Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin airports to Pampa for Sabarimala pilgrims

Sabarimala pilgrims who fly into Kerala will be able to take a bus straight from the airport to Pampa. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is planning air-conditioned services from the Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin international airports for the Mandala-Makaravilakku festival season. The plan came out of talks between KSRTC officials and the airport authorities. The bus from Thiruvananthapuram airport will leave for Pampa at 9.30 p.m., and the one from Cochin airport at 8.30 p.m. The return buses are timed to reach both airports by 7 p.m. Tickets can be bought on the KSRTC booking portal, airline ticket sites will carry links to it, and groups may hire chartered buses. Live flight timings from both airports will be shown at the Pampa bus station. Transport Minister C.P. John said the aim is a smoother journey for pilgrims.

Departure from Thiruvananthapuram airport: 9.30 p.m. Departure from Cochin airport: 8.30 p.m. Return buses reach the airports by: 7 p.m.
Why it matters for exams: Sabarimala season arrangements, the Mandala-Makaravilakku season and KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) are regular Kerala PSC general-knowledge material.
