National Bank of Serbia keeps its key policy rate at 5.75 per cent

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Serbia met on 8 October 2026 and kept the key policy rate unchanged at 5.75 per cent. The board's next rate-setting meeting is scheduled for 12 November 2026. The National Bank of Serbia is the country's central bank and issues the Serbian dinar, which is Serbia's currency. Serbia is a candidate for European Union membership but is not in the euro area, so its monetary policy is set in Belgrade and not by the European Central Bank.

Key policy rate: 5.75 per cent Next rate meeting: 12 November 2026
Why it matters for exams: Serbia's central bank is the National Bank of Serbia, its currency is the Serbian dinar, and the policy rate is decided by the bank's Executive Board.
