No bloc reaches 61 seats in the Knesset as Israel's final count leaves government formation open

Israel's completed count from its legislative election leaves no bloc with a majority in the 120-member Knesset. The pro-Netanyahu coalition took 53 seats, made up of Likud with 27, United Torah Judaism with 7, Otzma Yehudit with 7, Shas with 6 and Religious Zionism with 6. A bloc of Jewish parties opposing the Prime Minister won 48, led by Yashar with 21 and B'Yachad with 12, alongside The Democrats with 8 and Yisrael Beytenu with 7. Arab-led parties hold 19 seats, with the Joint List on 11 and Ra'am on 8. Sixty-one seats are needed for a majority, so some parties must realign or cross bloc lines. President Isaac Herzog must task a candidate with forming a government once the results are certified. If no arrangement is reached the country could return to the polls.

Seats in the Knesset: 120 Seats for a majority: 61 Largest single party: Likud, 27
Why it matters for exams: Fixes the Knesset's strength at 120 with 61 for a majority, the party-wise seat tally, and the Israeli President Isaac Herzog's power to task a leader with forming a government.
