Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv for a second night, striking Darnytska CHP-4 power plant; Zelensky says Ukraine had no early warning
14 October 2026
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said a Russian ballistic missile attack hit Darnytska CHP-4, a key energy facility supplying Kyiv with heating and electricity.
He said the strike came with "no early warning from our partners", after a second night of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attacks knocked out power to parts of the city.
The strikes followed US President Donald Trump's statement two days earlier that Russia and Ukraine had agreed an energy ceasefire.
Zelensky said Ukraine had supported the energy ceasefire and urged the United States to see who is responsible for the war continuing.
