Sabarmati River bridge completed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor

The 480-metre-long bridge over the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has been completed. It stands about 36 metres tall on 8 circular piers, 4 of them in the riverbed. The bridge has five spans of 76 metres and two of 50 metres, each built from 23 segments cast in-situ. It was built by the Balanced Cantilever Method, which needs no conventional scaffolding below the deck. Of the 25 river bridges on the corridor, 21 are in Gujarat and 18 of those are now complete.
