Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced a Dasara profit share for Singareni coal workers at a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday, with IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu present.
Each of the 38,737 permanent employees of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will receive an average profit share of ₹1,53,912, while 29,717 contract workers will get ₹5,500 each.
The government decided to continue distributing 34% of Singareni's profits among workers.
SCCL made a net profit of ₹1,754 crore this year, of which ₹596 crore will be distributed as the workers' share.
Officials were told to expedite house-site pattas for the remaining 1,250 acres and to complete about 250–300 pending dependent employment orders within the next 15 days.
Medical board meetings will be held on designated days every month at all area hospitals, so workers need not travel to Kothagudem.
