Ujjain road widening for Simhastha Kumbh 2028 taken up under the Ujjain Development Plan 2035

The Ujjain Municipal Corporation has taken up a road widening exercise in the city for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028.
The corporation told the Madhya Pradesh High Court that the exercise was part of the Ujjain Development Plan, 2035.
The corporation issued notices on 14 August, 25 and 27 August, and 1 September.
It recorded before the court that portions of 10 temples and one mosque had already been removed along the same road.
Action had been taken against around 80 religious places across Ujjain.
The administration said the widening was needed to manage the movement of devotees.
