Vice-President visits the Indian Army's Sainya Sampark Mela for veterans and Veer Naris in Deoghar

Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan visited the Sainya Sampark Mela – Sadaiv Aapke Saath in Deoghar, Jharkhand, on 10 October 2026. The Mela was organised by the Indian Army with the Deoghar District Administration to provide welfare services and grievance redressal to ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents across the Santhal Pargana region. He said that while soldiers have always stood with the Nation, the Nation must always stand with them and their families. He paid tribute to Param Vir Chakra awardee Lance Naik Albert Ekka and to tribal freedom fighters including Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Tilka Manjhi, and Sidhu and Kanhu. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar attended the event.
