The World Bank's Europe and Central Asia Economic Update of October 2026 projects Ukraine's growth to slow to 1.2 per cent in 2026, down from 1.8 per cent in 2025.
The World Bank says growth is projected to weaken as Russia's prolonged invasion affects investment and business activity.
The Government of Ukraine plans more than $15 billion in public investment projects for 2026.
Securing external financing for 2027 is identified as the main source of uncertainty.
At least $20 billion in needs have been met since February 2022 through urgent repairs and early recovery work.
Growth projection:
1.2% in 2026
Previous year:
1.8% in 2025
Planned public investment:
more than $15 billion
Why it matters for exams: World Bank growth projections for individual countries are a standard economy question in competitive exams.
