World Migratory Bird Day 2026 is marked with the theme 'Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!'

World Migratory Bird Day was marked on 10 October 2026, its October observance for the year. The campaign is celebrated each year in both May and October to reflect migration patterns in the northern and southern hemispheres. The 2026 theme, 'Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!', highlights the role of community science, also called citizen science, in the conservation of migratory birds. The theme was announced on 18 December 2025 by the global partners behind the day. World Migratory Bird Day 2026 also coincides with the 60th Anniversary of the International Waterbird Census.
