Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday asked officials to be prepared for talks with Maharashtra on building the Tummidihatti Barrage across the Pranahita river with a full reservoir level of 152 metres.
Maharashtra is the upper riparian State on the Pranahita, so its agreement is needed for the higher reservoir level.
At the same meeting with ministers and officials, the Chief Minister directed that arrangements be made to draw 0.6 tmc ft of additional water from Srisailam for the Dindi and Achampet projects using the PRLIS pumping system.
The Pranahita is formed by the confluence of the Wardha, Painganga and Wainganga rivers and is the largest tributary of the Godavari.

Two employees of Saraca Laboratories Limited were killed after exposure to chloroform vapours that leaked during a production process at the Gaddapotharam industrial area of Jinnaram mandal in Sangareddy district late on Thursday.
The Telangana Pollution Control Board on Friday ordered the immediate closure of the unit.
The Board also directed the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited to disconnect the unit's electricity supply.
According to the Board, the incident occurred around 11.30 p.m. during a layer separation process in Production Block-2 of the facility.
The two who died were a chemist and a supervisor at the plant.

The Southern Regional Police Coordination Committee met in Hyderabad on Friday with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Directors General of Police of the southern States taking part.
The Chief Minister said the southern States should strengthen intelligence sharing and operational coordination.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening inter-State coordination and tackling cross-border crime.

The Election Commission of India informed the Telangana High Court that the final list of voters under the Special Intensive Revision in the State will be published on November 9.
The Commission said a voter who claimed he had received no notice had in fact filed a Form 6 application for inclusion of his name, which has been processed.
It also said a response with detailed instructions had been issued on September 1 to a voter whose name was not in the draft roll.
The court was hearing a plea challenging notices issued to electors over minor discrepancies in their enumeration forms through an automated data-matching platform.
The Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice P. Sam Koshy and Justice Narsing Rao Nandikonda heard the matter, in which a separate public interest litigation on the larger issue has also been filed.

HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath and CMC Commissioner Srujana inspected Sunnam Cheruvu, a lake restored by HYDRAA, on Friday evening.
The inspection was a field-level review of arrangements for the inauguration of the lake by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, scheduled for the end of this month or the beginning of next month.
The works reviewed included demarcation of the Full Tank Level boundaries across approximately 20 acres, desilting of the lake and the erection of fencing.
The Commissioners inspected the elevated bund built around the lake, the walking tracks, and the fencing installed both along the inner side of the lake and outside the old fencing.
Development of the lake and its surroundings covers approximately 30 acres following the removal of encroachments, and includes parks, open gyms, gazebos for seating and boating jetties.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has laid the foundation stone for the Rs 200 crore National Institute of Urban Management campus at Bharat Future City.
The State government has allotted 20 acres in Future City for the project.
The institute was selected in 2009 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, but the project remained delayed for years because land was not allotted to it.
The institute is to serve as an action-oriented research institution supporting urban policy formulation in Telangana.
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the campus by June 2, 2028 and to inaugurate it on Telangana State Formation Day.
The programme was held on the Future City Development Authority premises, and before the ceremony the Chief Minister inspected the construction of the Young India Skills University buildings and the surrounding area.
