China's three policy banks have placed the whole of this year's 800 billion yuan of new policy-based financial instruments, worth about 119 billion US dollars. The China Development Bank issued 365 billion yuan for projects carrying about 5.5 trillion yuan of total investment. The Export-Import Bank of China issued 120 billion yuan, which it says helped leverage more than 1.7 trillion yuan of investment. The Agricultural Development Bank of China issued 315 billion yuan for projects with about 4.39 trillion yuan of total investment. Of the China Development Bank's share, 179.01 billion yuan went to artificial intelligence, digital economy, green, biomedicine and consumption projects and 127.99 billion yuan to projects involving private capital. Almost 40 per cent of the Export-Import Bank's allocation went to projects with private capital. The instruments were first launched in 2025 at 500 billion yuan, and the 800 billion yuan figure for this year was set in the government work report.
