Danmarks Nationalbank's lending rate stands at 2.25 per cent after a quarter-point rise

Danmarks Nationalbank, Denmark's central bank, raised the current-account rate, the rate of interest on certificates of deposit, the lending rate and the discount rate by 0.25 percentage point. The change took effect from 11 September 2026. The bank's rates are now: current-account rate 2.10 per cent p.a., certificates of deposit rate 2.10 per cent p.a., lending rate 2.25 per cent p.a. and discount rate 2.10 per cent p.a. The bank said the increase was a consequence of the European Central Bank raising its main monetary policy rate, the deposit facility rate, by 0.25 percentage point. The monetary policy spread against the euro area therefore remains unchanged. Denmark keeps its own currency, the krone, and runs a fixed exchange rate policy against the euro, so its rate moves usually follow the ECB.
