Dimapur and Niuland field trainers prepare for the Population Enumeration phase of Census 2027
2 November 2026
A three-day course for Field Trainers under Phase-II of Census 2027, the Population Enumeration phase, opened at the Circuit House, Dimapur on 2nd November 2026 and lasts until 4th November. It covers trainers from Dimapur and Niuland districts, who will in turn coach the enumerators that visit homes. The sessions deal with the census method, its legal provisions, key concepts and definitions, and questions on migration, fertility and economic activity. The course also gave practice on the enumeration mobile app and on drawing layout maps of enumeration blocks. Kohima district held its own Field Trainer Training for Census 2027 Phase-II on 28th October 2026. At that session it was stressed that the coming count is fully digital, unlike earlier paper-based ones.
