Federal Reserve Board terminates three enforcement actions against Kansas banking entities
17 October 2026
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System announced on 16 October 2026 that it had terminated three enforcement actions involving institutions at Lenexa, Kansas, all terminated on 13 October 2026. The first was a cease and desist order dated 1 September 2023 against Gardner Bancshares, Inc. and Small Business Bank. The second was a cease and desist order dated 13 November 2024 against Small Business Bank. The third was a prompt corrective action directive dated 29 June 2026 against Small Business Bank. A cease and desist order requires a supervised institution to stop specified unsafe or unsound practices, while a prompt corrective action directive is issued when a bank's capital falls below prescribed levels. Termination of an enforcement action indicates the supervisor is satisfied that the conditions that prompted it have been addressed.
