IAF's Sarang helicopter team to fly over Nava Raipur for Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav

The Indian Air Force's Sarang Helicopter Display Team will perform over Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on November 2. The show is part of the three-day Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav, the State Foundation Day celebration starting on November 1. Five indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv aircraft will fly coordinated formations. The team is led by Group Captain Abhijit Kumar and includes two women pilots. Its motto is "Inspiration Through Excellence". Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya is to open the celebrations, and Union minister Amit Shah is to attend the closing ceremony. The team met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur on October 28.

Rajyotsav begins: November 1 Air show: November 2 Helicopters: 5 ALH Dhruv Team leader: Group Captain Abhijit Kumar
Why it matters for exams: IAF display teams (Sarang, Surya Kiran), the indigenous ALH Dhruv and Chhattisgarh's foundation day on 1 November are common defence and state-GK questions.
