IMD's RSMC New Delhi names tropical cyclones over the north Indian Ocean

Worldwide there are six Regional Specialised Meteorological Centres (RSMCs) mandated to issue advisories and name tropical cyclones.
The India Meteorological Department is one of the six RSMCs.
It provides cyclone and storm surge advisories to 13 member countries under the WMO/ESCAP Panel, including Bangladesh, India, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
RSMC New Delhi names tropical cyclones developing over the north Indian Ocean, including the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
Naming helps identify each cyclone, removes confusion when cyclones occur at the same time and helps warnings reach a wider audience.
