Kerala constitutes a State Road Safety Mission chaired by the Chief Minister, with Mammootty as brand ambassador

The State government has formed a Kerala State Road Safety Mission, with the Chief Minister as its chair and the Transport Minister as co-chair.
Transport Minister C.P. John announced it and said the formal launch is set for November 15 at Ernakulam Town Hall.
Actor Mammootty will be the mission's brand ambassador.
Roughly 3,600 to 3,700 people die in road accidents in the State every year, and the mission aims to bring this down in phases.
Its plan includes awareness from first-grade pupils to adults, strict enforcement and 'safe driving clubs' at the local level.
It also covers fixing black spots, signboards, wider zebra crossings, colour-coded safety zones and road safety in the school curriculum.
In plain words
Black spot — A stretch of road where accidents happen repeatedly.
