Kerala starts WOMN project with sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators at 14 KSRTC centres

The Women and Child Development Department begins the 'WOMN - Women on the Move & Menstrual Need-s' project, with the launch at the Thampanoor KSRTC bus terminal in Thiruvananthapuram on 6 October.
Minister Bindu Krishna is to inaugurate it at 5 pm.
Vending machines and incinerators are first being installed at 14 KSRTC centres as a pilot.
A packet of three sanitary napkins costs ₹10, and the incinerators allow eco-friendly disposal after use.
The project is run under the department's supervision with a partner agency's cooperation, and the department has currently set aside ₹16 lakh for it.
It is part of the State government's 100-day action programme and targets major tourist centres, KSRTC terminals and depots and other public places.
