Kerala to run a special learning-level programme in Classes 3 and 6 of public schools
3 November 2026
General Education Minister N. Shamsuddin has said a special programme to check learning levels will run in Classes 3 and 6 of Kerala's public schools from this academic year. It will test whether pupils have picked up the knowledge expected at that stage. Children who score low will get special coaching so that their foundation in learning is made secure. The Minister said the aim is to raise quality and build pupils' confidence, and that small schools will be strengthened. He spoke while opening a new building at Vamanapuram Government UP School, which has 131 years of history. The building was put up with one crore rupees sanctioned in 2025-26, and a Mini Little KITEs school unit was opened the same day.
