Keralam asks the Centre for a time-bound interstate protocol on narcotics cases under NCORD

Keralam's Minister for Home, Vigilance and Coir, Ramesh Chennithala, wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah with four proposals on interstate narcotics enforcement.
He sought a standard time-bound operational protocol under NCORD, with round-the-clock nodal officers in every State and Union Territory.
He asked for real-time intelligence sharing among State Anti-Narcotics Task Forces, building on NCORD and NIDAAN.
He sought structured coordination among State Police, the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Enforcement Directorate and FIU-IND in major interstate NDPS cases.
He also sought a structured legal and procedural review with States, forensic experts and prosecutors.
The letter asked the Union Government to convene a conference of all State and Union Territory Home Ministers, and offered Keralam as host.
It linked the conference to the Vision Document on Drug Control (2026-2029).

Proposals sent: 4 Vision Document period: 2026-2029
Why it matters for exams: NCORD, NIDAAN and the central drug agencies are the abbreviations an examiner picks out of any narcotics story.
