NASA science and cargo lift off on the 35th SpaceX resupply mission to the space station

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Dragon spacecraft lifted off at 6:33 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It carried more than 6,300 pounds of supplies and hardware on SpaceX's 35th Commercial Resupply Services mission to the International Space Station. Docking was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the space-facing port of the Harmony module. The science aboard includes hardware for making artificial retinas in microgravity aimed at restoring vision, 3D heart tissue models for large-scale drug testing, materials for studying how a new type of glass forms in microgravity, and brain organoids for identifying potential treatment targets for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and multiple sclerosis. The mission also carries the final pair of Roll-Out Solar Arrays, which astronauts plan to install during spacewalks later in the autumn.
