WFP condemns an aerial attack on two of its food trucks between Dilling and Kadugli that killed a driver

The World Food Programme said two contracted trucks carrying its food commodities were hit in an aerial attack in the early hours of Saturday, 3 October 2026, while travelling from Dilling to Kadugli in South Kordofan. One driver was killed. The trucks were clearly marked as humanitarian vehicles. WFP strongly condemned the attack, called for an investigation and for those responsible to be held accountable, and urged all parties to respect international humanitarian law and allow the safe and unimpeded movement of aid workers and supplies. The agency said the attack came one day after one of its trucks hit an explosive device in Dilling after delivering food.

Date of attack: 3 October 2026 Route: Dilling to Kadugli, South Kordofan Trucks hit: Two
Why it matters for exams: Attacks on marked humanitarian convoys are the textbook illustration of international humanitarian law being tested, and Dilling and Kadugli are key South Kordofan names.
