Agali Grama Panchayat stadium in Attappadi gets 50 lakh rupees under 'Oru Panchayathil Oru Kalikkalam'

The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs has sanctioned 50 lakh rupees for basic development of the Agali Grama Panchayat stadium in Palakkad district under its 'Oru Panchayathil Oru Kalikkalam' (one playground in one panchayat) scheme. The Agali ground is in the newly announced list of 34 playgrounds and swimming pools. Attappadi has long needed a proper ground; at present the schools at Agali and Sholayur have only small grounds. Agali Grama Panchayat President Shibu Syriac had petitioned Minister N Shamsudheen for the funds. Site inspection and other preliminary steps are to begin in the coming days.
