Angamaly Magistrate Court rejects the Borstal School superintendent's plea to shift the Nedumbassery Mini Cooper crash accused to Viyyur Jail
22 October 2026
The Angamaly Magistrate Court has rejected an application to shift Suhail Sajeev, an accused in the Nedumbassery Mini Cooper accident case, from the Borstal School to Viyyur Jail.
The application was filed by the superintendent of the Borstal School on security grounds.
The court said the authorities could apply again if a threat or other problem arises later, and noted that the accused had not raised any concern himself.
Suhail Sajeev will remain at the Borstal School.
The same court had earlier rejected his bail applications.
Gopika, who died in the accident, was the victim in the case.
Her family has sought a special public prosecutor and proposed advocate John S Ralph for the post.
