Health Minister says 1800 doctor posts will be created in the State, along with 500 nurse and pharmacist posts

Health and Devaswom Minister K. Muraleedharan said 1800 doctor posts, including specialty doctors, will be created to expand government hospitals and make them operational. He said 500 nurse and pharmacist posts will also be filled, and that a letter has been given to the Chief Minister, who holds the Finance portfolio. The Minister said that once the doctors are in place, all district hospitals will be made operational for 24 hours. He was speaking after inaugurating the construction of the Chottanikkara, Thottoor and Koovappady primary health centres, taken up under the State Government's hundred-day action programme. He said 94 per cent of the Health Department's work under that programme has been completed, and that Pratheeksha centres have been started in all districts.

Doctor posts: 1800 Nurse and pharmacist posts: 500 Programme completion: 94 ശതമാനം
Why it matters for exams: Post creation figures and the hundred-day programme completion rate are both quotable in Kerala governance answers.
