ICAR-CCARI takes natural and organic farming to Divar island under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan
23 October 2026
The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI) in Goa held two awareness sessions on natural and organic farming on 23 October.
They formed part of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, a drive to protect farm soil and cut the use of chemical inputs.
The first session was held for farmers in Divar village.
They learnt how local resources, organic manure and biological inputs can keep soil fertile.
The second was held at the institute for Goa University students and farmers from Bali village in South Goa.
Participants learnt how such farming cuts costs, keeps soil healthy and protects biodiversity, and how to adopt it under Goa's agro-climatic conditions.
