Kera project gives farmers 75,000 rupees a hectare for rubber replanting, up to two hectares each

The Agriculture Department is implementing the Kera project with the cooperation of the World Bank. Under the project, farmers will be allowed seventy five thousand rupees per hectare for planting climate-resilient rubber saplings, and a maximum of two hectares of assistance will be allowed to one farmer. A training and registration programme for farmers taking up rubber replanting was organised at the Hotel Moonlight auditorium at Nooranad, inaugurated by Palamel Grama Panchayat President Susamma Chacko. Panchayat member Soumya Pradeep chaired the session. Classes were taken by Ajas K. Bava, Junior Cooperative Inspector of the Kottayam Regional RPMU, on the Kera project, and by R. Praveen Kumar, Deputy RPC in-charge of the Adoor Rubber Board, on the Kera rubber replanting management scheme. Kera project authorities said about one hundred and ten farmers attended the training and completed registration for replanting.

Why it matters for exams: A World Bank assisted Kerala agriculture project with a stated per-hectare rate is a likely scheme question.
