Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra chaired the 16th meeting of the Union Territory Level Bankers Committee (UTLBC) in Ladakh. For the quarter ending June 2026, deposits in the Union Territory grew 12.32 per cent over the year to Rs. 11,630.35 crore, and credit grew 10.48 per cent to Rs. 5,319.22 crore. That leaves the credit-deposit ratio at 45.74 per cent, well below the 60 per cent benchmark cited by NABARD's General Manager. Priority sector disbursement in the first quarter of 2026-27 was Rs. 373.00 crore, or 26 per cent of the annual credit target. Total disbursement across priority and non-priority sectors was Rs. 834.00 crore, 29 per cent of target. Banks were told to hold at least one credit camp in every district each month along with the Department of Industries and Commerce, and the convenor bank was asked to prepare a common loan application form for government-sponsored schemes.
