Agartala Lighthouse Project hands over 278 flats built with light gauge steel frame technology

Chief Minister Manik Saha has inaugurated Blocks A and F of the Agartala Lighthouse Project and handed over keys to some of the beneficiaries.
About 278 houses are ready, out of 1,000 planned in Agartala, and the two blocks are part of a set of seven.
Each flat measures about 30 square metres, or 320 square feet.
The houses are built with light gauge steel frame technology, a method meant to make construction faster and lighter than conventional brick and concrete.
Agartala is one of seven cities in the country taken up under the Lighthouse project.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal joined the function virtually.
The flats are meant for economically weaker and low income families.
