Tripura's Saharsh programme wins NCERT recognition for putting children's wellbeing into the school timetable
4 November 2026
The National Council of Educational Research and Training has given national recognition to Tripura for its Saharsh programme.
Uttarakhand was recognised at the same time for its Anandam Pathyacharya, also called Anandam.
Both programmes put a dedicated wellbeing class into the regular school timetable, taken by government school teachers.
Partha Pratim Acharya, Officer on Special Duty at the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Tripura, spoke for Saharsh.
Saharsh was evaluated in a large randomised controlled trial with researchers from Harvard and the University of Michigan.
The Indian non-profit Labhya gives technical support and learning inputs to both programmes.
