Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk reaches the International Space Station with the Crew-13 mission
1 October 2026
Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk has arrived at the International Space Station aboard a Dragon spacecraft named Grace, as part of NASA's SpaceX Crew-13 mission. He is the first Canadian Space Agency astronaut to fly under NASA's Commercial Crew Program, and he will stay on the station for about six months. Kutryk, a colonel and former test pilot, was born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and was one of two recruits chosen in the agency's fourth astronaut recruitment campaign in 2017. The Canadian Space Agency, whose headquarters is at Longueuil in Quebec, said Industry Minister Melanie Joly attended the launch. Kutryk had been assigned to the Crew-13 mission earlier in the year after an earlier flight plan changed.
