Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan and Finland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen met in Singapore.
They issued a joint statement on foreign policy and cooperation in the age of artificial intelligence on 13 October 2026.
The two countries will cooperate on international artificial intelligence governance within a rules-based international order.
They will advance safety through international cooperation, transparency and common standards.
Bilateral work will deepen on artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and digital infrastructure, including open models.

It records their joint endorsement of A Call for Control of Frontier AI Models in September 2026, and lists the Singapore Consensus on Global AI Safety Research Priorities among Singapore's own strengths in artificial intelligence governance.
