Union Health Minister sets March 2027 deadline to finish AIIMS Awantipora

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda visited Srinagar and reviewed the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Awantipora. He told the agencies to finish the remaining construction by March 2027. Officials said OPD services are planned to start before December this year, and IPD services in July 2027 once the needed buildings and arrangements are ready. MBBS classes are proposed from the academic session 2027–28. The Phase-I buildings, including the OPD Registration Block, the OPD Block, residences and hostels, are complete. Nadda also asked HLL Infratech Services Ltd. (HITES) and the Executive Director to speed up buying medical equipment and furniture.
