The Federal Reserve Board has announced an enforcement action against American Express Company. The action addresses, among other things, the firm's failure to sufficiently detect and report certain suspicious activity related to money laundering. The Board identified significant deficiencies in the way the firm's enterprise-wide anti-money laundering programme was implemented, particularly at its subsidiary national bank. The Board said the action will help ensure that the firm operates in compliance with all United States laws and regulations. A conference on Strengthening Regional Preparedness and Response to El Nino Impacts in ASEAN 2026-2027 has opened at Da Nang in Viet Nam. It was organised by the Viet Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration, which comes under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. The conference was held during the 47th Annual Meeting of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Meteorology and Geophysics, and brought together representatives of the World Meteorological Organization, partner organisations and national meteorological services across Southeast Asia.
